What Women of the Year means to us
The Women of the Year Lunch is about recognising outstanding women whose drive and energy have made a huge impact whatever their expertise. At Barclays, our employees’ commitment to serving the needs of our customers, whatever the situation, is the single most important ingredient of our success. The Lunch inspired our internal Women of the Year Awards programme, which is now in its fifth year. Through the awards we recognise talented women employees and showcase role models across the organisation.

Barclays and Women of the Year 2010
Our own internal Women of the Year Awards are one of the highlights of the Barclays calendar. The programme celebrates positive women role models within Barclays and promotes strong female leadership at all levels of the organisation – helping to demonstrate Barclays commitment to a diverse workforce. Our winners are nominated by colleagues across the business and from all countries. In 2010, we added a male Diversity Champion award to the programme. Now each female nominee also nominates a male colleague for his achievements in helping women flourish at Barclays.
