Women of the Year and Sacla’

Women of the Year has created a long legacy of outstanding women who have each made their own contribution to improving the lives of others.  We hope that each woman recognised by Women of the Year will inspire future generations of women to help make the world a better place.  Acknowledging and celebrating women and their achievements is second nature to us as we were founded in Italy in 1939 by Piera Ercole, the Sacla’ family matriarch.

Sacla’ was delighted to present the Window to the World Award 2010 to Susie Hart, a woman who has demonstrated an indomitable will and determination to bring the plight of others to our attention.  Susie continues her amazing work in Tanzania giving disabled people a chance to learn new skills and the opportunity not only for an education but for employment too.

We were proud to celebrate Susie’s selfless passion, and to honour her achievement as she continues to help change the way we think about the world.
