Women of the Year has secured sponsorship from furniture retailer DFS and global financial services group, Prudential.

Alongside current sponsors, Barclays, ITV’s Lorraine and Good Housekeeping magazine, DFS and Prudential will be supporting the 60th Women of the Year Lunch taking place on Monday 13 October 2014.

DFS and Prudential will each be sponsoring their own Women of the Year Award, highlighting the incredible achievements of an individual woman from the UK or abroad.

These awards will join ITV’s Lorraine Inspirational Woman of the Year Award, the Good Housekeeping and the Barclays awards and will be presented at the Lunch in October.

Jane Luca, Chair of the Women of the Year Lunch & Awards said: “We are delighted to welcome Prudential and DFS as new sponsors to Women of the Year.  They are joining us at an important time as we start our 60th anniversary celebrations. They, alongside our other sponsors, will help us create a very memorable Lunch and Awards.”

Established 45 years ago, DFS is a leading UK furniture retailer which designs, manufactures, sells and delivers an extensive range of upholstered furniture products – specialising in sofas. DFS has a retail network of almost 100 stores across the UK and Republic of Ireland, and an online channel.

Ian Filby, CEO of DFS, commented: “We are delighted to sponsor the Women of the Year Lunch & Awards. At DFS we are committed to giving back to the community and this is a great way to celebrate the women who dedicate their lives to doing this too.”

Prudential plc is an international financial services group serving around 23 million insurance customers worldwide, of which 7 million are in the UK, and has £443 billion of assets under management. They are listed on stock exchanges in London, Hong Kong, Singapore and New York.

“We are pleased to be able to support Women of the Year,” said Prudential plc’s Group Chief Executive, Tidjane Thiam. “At Prudential we place a very high value on achievement, and we are glad to be able to help celebrate the remarkable women who are being honoured through these awards.”
