Professor Dame Carol Black

Professor Dame Carol Black is Chair of the British Library and Chair of the Centre for Ageing Better

A past-president of the Royal College of Physicians and past-chair of the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges, Dame Carol is Chair of the British Library, of the Centre for Ageing Better, and of Think Ahead, the Government’s fast-stream training programme for mental health social workers. She also advises Government Departments on health, work and wellbeing, and is currently completing a fourth independent review for Government, this one on the prevention, treatment and recovery addiction to drugs, prevention, treatment and recovery.
