Back to 15 Years of generosity: Women of the Year and Barclays

For fifteen years, Women of the Year has been supported by Barclays. Attracted by the idea of celebrating the achievements of women across all walks of life, our relationship with the organisation was forged by Joan Armatrading during her term as President. Possibly helped by the fact that the then Chief Executive of Barclays Retail, Deanna Oppenheimer, was a lifelong fan of Joan’s!

Barclays have been our lead Sponsor since then, supporting not only the Lunch and their own Award Winners, but also our Annual Lectures (currently suspended because of Covid). Sadly, this will be their last year with us and all of us at Women of the Year would like to express our deep appreciation for their generous sponsorship and encouragement during our association with them, and to wish them every success in the post-pandemic future.

We are now faced with the challenge of finding another organisation with which we can be as proud to be associated as we have been with Barclays.
