Women of the Year is sorry to hear that cookery writer, home economist and broadcaster Marguerite Patten has died. Marguerite, who was 99, had written more than 170 books.

Marguerite was recognised at the 2007 Women of the Year Lunch & Awards and awarded the Women of the Year Elior Lifetime Achievement Award. This was introduced by presenter Fern Britton and presented by Catherine Roe, Chief Executive at Elior.  She was awarded the OBE in 1991 and CBE in 2010.

Marguerite is pictured with her fellow 2007 Women of the Year winners: Sister Frances Dominica, Rose Molokoane and Jasvinder Sanghira.
